Well, Boris Johnson's transport advisor Andrew Gilligan who said last night he lost his job in government in September said the following. Money for train workers has always been on the table, more than what was offered last night but in that offer includes modernization which unions don't accept and leave out. He said that the gvmt's position is modernization or sitting back as the RMT will not win. The workers have no appetite for loss of pay due to strikes. It will run and run and the RMT will eventually crumble if they don't accept an increase in pay with modernization plans in place. They will most likely put the latest offer over quitely and shout loudly, Don't accept. A time game is a win for the government as the workforce loose appetite for more strikes and more loss of pay |
