Kingston Upon Thames is pretty much a vibrant town center with lots of through traffic via the one way system. The night club area is not in the pedestrianised area which is pretty small. It's disingenuous to compare Kingston with Ealing or Hounslow because there are different demographic characteristics. Likewise you couldn't compare Copenhagen or Oslo with Ealing. "Examples of demographic characteristics include age, race, gender, ethnicity, religion, income, education, home ownership, sexual orientation, marital status, family size, health and disability status, and psychiatric diagnosis" Richmond has been experiencing some problems with youth crime because people from other Boroughs, with different demographic characteristics, are descending upon the area over weekends specifically to cause trouble. Perhaps if Ealing is pedestrianised they will target Ealing instead as the pickings will be attractive no doubt!!?? |
