Previously somebody said that we can't compare the UK to other European countries because... well, because. Now then, how about Kingston Upon Thames? It's got a large pedestrian area and, somehow, there aren't piles of dead bodies. In fact, out of a sample of 94 UK postcode areas, Kingston has the third lowest crime rate. And it's trailing behind England as an average. https://www.plumplot.co.uk/Kingston-upon-Thames-violent-crime-statistics.html Ditto for Cambridge, which has a fairly substantial 100% pedestrian area. https://www.plumplot.co.uk/Cambridge-violent-crime-statistics.html#:~:text=Compared%20to%20the%20national%20crime,of%20October%202021%20%2D%20September%202022. |
