| "Our world-leading Streetspace schemes are helping protect the health of Londoners". Try taking a stroll around Hammersmith Broadway with it's almost totally unused "coned off for cyclists" lane which completely removes one lane of traffic all the way round. Or the idiotic "bike lane" heading West down the side of Shepherds Bush Green which has also resulted in the loss of one lane to ALL traffic. Both these wonderful Streetspace schemes have resulted in hugely delayed motor vehicles of all sorts which crawl along creating huge tail backs and pumping out far more harmful emissions than if the lanes weren't there. Definitely NOT protecting the health of Londoners. |
