I believe some new but far from complete data emerged- along with the Scottish data that confirmed AZ was perfectly efficacious for over 65s ( and indeed ever so marginally better than Pfizer)-  raising doubts again about the length of the Pfizer gap. It seems there was some evidence to show that immunity did start to decrease after 5-6 weeks.I think it was between50%- 60% but forget. It is not known if the extended gap affects the overall efficacy of 2 jabs.
Joan Bakewell crowd funded a judicial review on the Pfizer gap but is not allowed by the court to publish the details! It may simply be that Pfizer, who have always stuck by the 3 week gap,  are wary of legal challenges, but the BMA did suggest a 6 week gap would be better and this seems to be supported in part by the latest data.
The 12 week gap between AZ jabs seems to be fine.
