Well rollocks to that in Grove park area. All these pointless one-way systems and barriers offer no benefits to the LOCAL RESIDENTS here in Grove Park & Strand on the Green. Un-needed road closures here would do nothing but increase traffic jams and pollution. I have no time at all for the bungling Mr Shapps and his ill-thought through scheme. YES there are thing the Hounslow Council should have done and hasn't here in "South Chiswick". For starters, make sure our gutters and roads are swept regularly, cleaned and cleared of debris, pot holes, lumps and bumps especially in the cycle lanes. Cyclists avoid using these lanes as they are too dangerous! NEXT, simply erect "NO ENTRY for motorised vehicles over xxx tons" Large vehicles with building supplies or house moving/delivering etc can enter by purchasing a pre-booked permit. These heavy lorries seeking cut throughs to/from Kew-Chiswick Bridge cause mayhem on Thames Road. Also trying to cut between the A4 and A316. Our residential roads were never designed for those monsters! So far that can't have cost much money to implement so why haven't these simple things been done before??? DO THEM NOW and bin all the rest of it! |
