I’m resurrecting this thread purely because today we had £20 off our lunch bill at a pretty expensive restaurant. (Not in Chiswick). I don’t think that any of the well-healed clientèle had been swayed to go out for lunch because of a small percentage of the bill being paid by the taxpayer. Should the scheme not be targeted towards more reasonably priced places which then would encourage people back into restaurants or introduce a cap dependent upon an average meal in that restaurant?
