Hi David, thanks again for your comments, everything you've written here makes sense to me.

Totally agree that this initiative isn't the fix, but it's surely better than nothing at all unless you think it's drawing attention public attention away from the problem and making people think that the hospitality industry have got it made with all these extra punters coming in (I don't think this at all BTW)

Maybe you're right in thinking of it as a 'finger in the dyke' solution, but I hope it turns out to be a bit more than that, and that maybe, maybe some other initiatives come out to help retailers and hospitality.
