I haven't eaten meat for 24 years. Was very difficult when I started as you really struggled to find vegetarian food in Supermarkets like you do now. If you were a good cook of course the ingredients were there but there was nothing like the aisles of soy and quorn products that you get now. Was travelling round America back in 1996 and it was awful for vegetarians. Your "on the road" option was a cheese and broccoli baked potato from Carl's Junior. Worst experience was Oktoberfest a few years back. Unless you eat Chicken you are in trouble. Multiple beers and a 3 day diet of salted pretzels does not end well! |
