| Paris has the lowest level of death in transport accidents of any department in France. It also has a much higher life expectancy and much lower level of cardiovascular disease than the French average. If deaths are being caused by air pollution it is very difficult to distinguish them in the available data. Scooters 'work' in Paris because of the broader roads and pavements in a city that has ripped up its medieval street plan and been redesigned by Haussman. Dockless bike hire on the other hand is very popular in Paris and could be promoted more here. |
