As a counterbalance to this there is some babystep movement on the West London Orbital Line. This would mean improved links from stations such as Kew Bridge and South Acton as well as a newly built station at Lionel Road. Sadly Gunnersbury isn't part of this plan but some pressure would be taken off it. The problem here is that the West London Orbital doesn't make much sense if Old Oak Common Overground station isn't built and the article on this site earlier in the month gave reason to believe it probably wouldn't be. The issue remains funding and it may be a forlorn hope that money that can be squeezed out of the developers along the route will be sufficient to cover the cost of an expensive piece of transport infrastructure. |
