The revelation that plans to build two new stations on the Overground are being scrapped by TfL is another blow for transport in this area. Strictly speaking they having been officially scrapped but the funding isn't there so the project is dead. The background is in this article. What this means for Chiswick is that if you use Gunnersbury or South Acton station a handy connection with Crossrail and HS2 is no longer going to happen. Now the Overground will go tantalising close to the Old Oak Terminal but not actually link to it given the Old Oak Common Overground station isn't going to be built. |
