| Edward asks - "did Lendlease buy and then shut down all the shops?" Yes. More recently they negotiated to let some charity pop-ups into the building, and Abundance London to set up a garden in the deserted car park behind (the one that's full of broken glass, beer cans, and worse). After three months of the charities preparing their plans, getting charitable rates relief from the council for the pop ups, additional insurance, legal advice, growing plants ready to go out, etc etc for the garden, LendLease pulled out, even though Heads of Terms had been agreed. |
