| I work for Age UK Ealing based in West Ealing. I can assure you that any donations given to us are put to good use running our advice and information service (including home visits for the housebound), running our day centres, manning our telephone support service and our Restore Plus Service (giving confidence back to those who have been in hospital after a fall or illness). We have some paid workers who are trained advisers who can advise on a range of issues but we rely on a team of volunteers to work on the reception (we are open to the public 4 days a week currently) and for manning the telephone to talk to the isolated. If you want to donate to a charity for the elderly then please do consider your local branch because we get no direct funding from the Age UK head office and recent cuts have affected our funding from Ealing council. |
