Perhaps she could have expressed it slightly more clearly but it is obvious what Marie and the WCGS's concerns are for the future. With 32 and a 22 storey buildings planned for this 'Great West Corridor' area there already appears to be an 'anything goes' attitude to the local plan. The question is does this more liberal zoning extend across the North Circular to the Power Road Estate? The documents produced seem to make no reference to area. It is likely that if its status as a relatively low-rise commercial/industrial estate was sacrosanct then this would have been clarified at an early stage. There will be a lot of developers hoping that the 32 storey tower at Chiswick Roundabout represents a benchmark for what happens next at Power Road. The announcement of the acquisition by Helical Bar of 5 buildings earlier in the week for a massive price suggests this area is in play. |
