Thank you all for your kind advice.   I think the Clarks Shoe shop on Chiswick High Road would refund us the monies but they want proof that we bought the shoes, rather than nicked them I suppose.   It is clear that the shoes are from Clarks as the shoes are labeled. Ill give your suggestion Loraine a go and see what happens.
