You seem to be undermining your own point. Everyone would accept that the taxation of cross border business is complex and companies engaging it have to seek to structure their business to minimise their tax bill. This is not the case with Facebook. Their UK based operation is charging UK based businesses for a service based in the UK. They are not breaking any laws but they are creating an unfair market just like larger companies such as Starbucks and Boots do. The result is that smaller independent concerns who do pay corporation tax find it difficult to compete. |
