A few weeks ago I saw a Chiswick flat advertised here at a price I thought fairly reasonable, and as I'm looking around for a nephew who wants to move to the area, I rang the agents (Foxtons) to ask how long the lease was - this important information was not included in the advertisement. I was astonished to be told that lease lengths were not published in order to discourage time-wasting enquirers (or something like that - I regret I didn't think to reply that I therefore assumed the lease was a short one so was no longer interested, but didn't think of it at the time).
Is this general practice these day, or is it just Foxtons? |
