The removal of Saddam Hussein was a boon for humanity, although the aftermath could and should have been handled better. However, the decision to go to war was taken by the government of the day, led by Tony Blair, and the monarch's role in the matter would have been to warn and advise, not to make the decision. You do, of course, have the democratic right to stand for election on a republican ticket. |
