These "facts" are debatable. Tourists visit historic cities like Paris and Prague in huge numbers despite the fact that their monarchs are long gone. It is an anachronism for a modern European state in the 21st Century to have an unelected House of Lords and hereditary monarch. This monarch presides over a sectarian church followed by a minority of the country's population, with a constitution that discriminates against other religions. Richard asks "Corbyn for President?". If he or anyone else is elected to the position they would have a democratic mandate, unlike old Liz. It should also be noted that Tony Blair did not lead us into an illegal war. If it was indeed illegal the culpable head of state is Liz herself. |
