Yes Claire that's correct but the British border control is in Calais.If the migrants don't have the correct paperwork, then they don't get past tose controls.If the border is moved back onto British soil, the French will just let these people onto boats and trains to come to England.When they arrive on British soil, they can claim asylum.That makes their removal much harder.There is only a huge anount of migrants in Calais because of the border post being there.If it's pulled back to Dover, the French will just let them board the ferries and trains.The French border posts are in Folkestone /Dover on British soil.This sgreement was put in place when the Channel Tunnel opened |
