Taxicard covers use in black cabs and minicabs. They do not have specially adapted cabs for wheelchairs. You will still have to ring around to find a cab company that can carry a wheelchair.Taxicard just pays the fare above £1.The council covers your taxi travel upto a certain amount per year. The customer pays the first £1 and the council picks up the rest of the fare. The yearly allocation used to be around £250, but that was some time ago.It may have increased since then.
