Gunnersbury already has notices warning of "managed queuing" being implemented at peak times, although I don't know if this has actually been done yet.

It has been discussed on previous threads but IMO the only way of providing a sufficient increase of capacity at Gunnersbury would be to reinstate a platform with a separate stairway.  It has been rumoured that the owners of Chiswick Tower are looking to redevelop the car parks there into (you've guessed it...) residential property and if true, reinstating a platform should be a condition of development.

Capacity issues will only get worse... the interchange between the Overground and Crossrail, and maybe HS2 at Old Oak Common will increase the "connectedness" of Gunnersbury as a location.
