IMHO Umunna is too much of a smooth metropolitan man to appeal to Labour supporters in the north of England, let alone the Scots or Welsh. If he fancies another shot in the future he needs to roughen up his edges a bit. Even Mandelson and Milibean Minor represent(ed) northern constituencies, despite looking very out of place when they were there.
