This is probably just a coincidence. On Tuesday, as I came out of a friends house, I observed a boy (aged about 9 years old) and his mother (I presumed) tearing strips of bark from the silver birch trees opposite The Bull's Head. They were having great fun although I could not work out what was making them laugh so much. They discarded the bark after tearing it from the trees. I did not say anything as I didn't think the trees would come to any harm and didn't want to be a party pooper. |
