My father is in a care home with Parkinson's and dementia. My mother took a long time to make a decision on which care home would be right for him, she used to put him into different care homes for respite care, to give her a break, just for a few days at a time, she soon worked out which ones were better than others, just little things like making sure he was shaved, clean and dressed. He is now in a home permanently, where he is very well cared for. Also the distance from her home was important, she didn't want to be driving for hours there and back to visit him. |
