I am looking at homes close to Crowborough, East Sussex as she (my relative) has lived there for 30 years and has many friends in the area who are happy to visit her - and as I can get there in 90 minutes by car or train it works for us too. It is a difficult decision to make but thank you all for the advice you are giving - I knew the forum would come up trumps! If I could try out different homes as respite  that would be possibly ideal but I don't think that will be possible and we are being urged to make a decision.
