Elizabeth, it sounds as if he or she needs a care home rather than a nursing home. I'm not just being pedantic here. We laypeople tend to use the terms interchangeably but the profession makes a clear distinction and you can waste a lot of time and effort if you're looking for the 'wrong' thing. If s/he just needs help with daily tasks such as dressing and eating and someone to keep a eye on them all the time, rather than actual nursing care, then it's a care home you want. |
