| Andy, 200 stones? Ruddy hell were you trying to start a pebble dash and rendering business? Mine also started after getting severely dehydrated and the b^gger is that uric acid is almost impossible to permanently reduce once it's gone haywire. So, Allopurinol for life and the occasional course of Tamsulosin (which is a dilator given to end-stage prostate cancer patients) which avoids surgery. GP was reluctant to prescribe it 'due to cost'. Pointed out that the drugs were £30 and any operation to remove stones would be, at a minimum 50 times that so his reluctance was depriving the NHS of funds. He just shut up and wrote the prescription :-) |
