It is looking like there won't even be consistent corporation tax within the UK. The Government has just published a bill allowing Northern Ireland to set its own rate of corporation tax. The government doesn't want to let Scotland set its own rate but I'm sure it won't be long before that is back on the table when it happens in NI. UK rate is 21%, Republic of Ireland is 12.5% hence why so many US companies HQ their European operations in Ireland. |
