You can only gain the benefit of low tax regimes like Switzerland if you can place a headquarters there and demonstrate that this headquarters is managing and controlling the local businesses - so you need a multi-country business and the systems / man-power to evidence the control from this non-UK headquarter. If you are a local business then you can't access this tax avoidance. This is one of the main complaints of Waterstones against the internet book retailers - that it is not a fair and equal competition.
