http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-31015807 How Britain's social care system works... well that's what it says. It's not exactly what I've seen with the elderly being discharged out of hospital without adequate and co-ordinated back up care available. (That's how many people spend less time in hospital.) Could you cope - or are you pretending that it just won't happen to you and yours. Circumstances can change suddenly because life has a habit of not going to plan. Why are Councils selling off valuable accessible Day Care Centres when they are even more valuable to those that use them and their families? When being left at home all day can mean rushed and very brief (briefer than you've paid for) visits several times a day. Lunch out once a week with friends can make a lot of difference. |
