Sean, you are 100% totally and utterly misinformed.

The Park & Staveley Road CPZ was introduced by Councillor Mayne on the SOLE RATIONALE that it would alleviate "massive commuter displacement" from Chiswick House car park.

This was known at the time to be deliberately false, and it has since been proven to be deliberately false.

If the 2-road CPZ had been proposed on the basis of other parking problems, or long term commuter parking (or any of the other multiple reasons given by various people here), it would have been thrown out summarily by our Councillors on the simple basis that all those other reasons had been considered and rejected by the CAF in July 2011.

At that meeting our Councillors voted unanimously against any CPZ, and that was the end of all those arguments.

Councillor Mayne himself said at that meeting "I am pleased that this matter has been resolved once and for all". Four months later he was submitting his plans for the two road CPZ which just goes to show about politicians...

In a lengthy chain of email correspondence between Councillor Mayne and Chiswick House Trustees / a small group of residents in Park Road, he stated several times that it was difficult to open the CPZ topic again because the CAF had already voted so clearly against it.

The only way it could be reopened would be if a totally new, previously unknown factor could be raised. (Massive Displacement, anyone?)

So the 2-road CPZ was NEVER about anything other than displacement, and we now know that it was made up.

But it is completely wrong to suggest that was about any of those other things. They were all rejected by our CAF in July 2011. Please let's not confuse matters.
