"There was strong support in favour of parking controls in Elmwood, Eastbourne, Milnthorpe, Staveley West, Lawford and Chatsworth Roads." Not sure where you get that idea from David. I've seen no published figures indicating this... Please quote your source. David complains about abuse. Pointing out incorrect evidence or statements that are incorrect or have no evidential support (as above) is an interesting definition of abuse. "The Park and Staveley Road CPZ was brought in to alleviate the parking problems in the roads due to long term and commuter parking." Er, no it wasn't although that may well have been your wish. It was brought in to offset all the "long term parkers" in the car park in Chiswick House Grounds parking elsewhere when parking charges were introduced - except there is no evidence to support this. "The scheme is highly successful" By what measure? The number of cars that now create problems elsewhere? A NIMBY attitude if ever there was one. It is quite clear that there wasn't a parking problem in Park Road or Staveley Road and that the introduction of a CPZ in these roads was based on wishful thinking. Parking has increased in surrounding roads since the introduction of this CPZ but any problems would quickly disappear if it were removed. |
