| If a dog has been living with cats I would be surprised if a rescue centre would have any problem with letting you have a kitten as long as it was a kitten or an older cat that was used to dogs. When I applied to a rescue centre for a kitten that was certainly the case, as my dog had been happily living with cats for years and they had no problem at all with that. The main reason we didn't go ahead was my refusal to let the cat wander beyond the enclosed garden, as most rescue centres want you to let the cat go where it pleases, which personally I am not happy with. So mine are all from breeders and as I favour rare blue eyed cats anyway that is fine, although there are many unwanted kittens I don't think there is anything wrong in good, careful breeders breeding rare cats whose line would otherwise die out, as the Balinese and Snowshoe look likely to do in the UK sadly. |
