| There are a number of permitted arrivals during the curfew hours of 2300-0600 - I recall it's something like 16. They tend to be flights from Asia - for example BA has two flights leaving Hong Kong just after midnight local time, which arrive here at around 0430. This arrangement has been in place for many years, and it's not likely to change for the better, unfortunately. There's an alternation schedule for night landings that in theory means runway 27R, which is the one that bothers Chiswick, is only in use one week in four. This week is one of those weeks. The snag is that when the wind is from the west above a certain speed they can't use the 09 runways, so when 09L is the scheduled runway (like last week) that will switch to 27R. For what it's worth, from Monday 26th for two weeks they'll be using the southern runway (09R/27L) for the night landings, so you should get a bit of respite. You might get a break tomorrow as they're forecasting winds from the east - but they're not expected to be strong so they might still go with downwind landings on 27R. |
