Andy, go to Richmond Vets.  They are calm, professional and although all vet bills are expensive, in comparison to others they are reasonably priced, much more so than Medivet or Petcare and very often when I am waiting someone who has brought their animal in for a recheck after some treatment I have heard them say, 'that's alright, no charge. '  You don't hear that very often from vets.

The previous owner personally took half an hour out at the end of a busy day to show me round and talk to me in a lot of detail about my various concerns (eg I don't believe in all animals having all vaccinations annually and there are certain medications I won't allow to be given to my animals, type of anaesthesia they use etc) before I registered with them, all at no charge, unlike some other vets in the area.

Youngs are not too expensive but they keep changing staff and although the vets are nice they are straight out of vet school - probably one reason for the lower costs - and although that might be a plus in that they are hopefully up to date with the latest techniques I think experience counts too.

It's a bit more of a trek to get to Richmond Vets - they are on the Kew Road - but they are fair, kind, helpful and professional, have a free car parking space at the back and although no vet is of course perfect they are, of all the ones I have tried round here, Richmond Vets would be the ones I recommend.  I have five animals registered with them and they have all been well treated.
