Much as I love animals I would not forgo the heating of my home with the commensurate health risks simply to keep a pet. At retail prices a high dose Drontal worming tablet costs £1.62 which that Andy was charged £9.00 simply to administer it. It does not take make training to take an ear swab and then 'react' to the lab report. "I can promise you, that not much of it goes in wages which are very low given the hours, skills and trainig (sic)required, even for vets." The average employed vets salary is around £43,800 in London, obviously far higher for owners/partners. Seemingly not high in the great scheme of things but dogs and cats rarely sue for malpractice. |
