My children are all grown up now and in any case went to Belmont, but in my experience working in lots of Tower Hamlets schools over the years one consideration is the size of school.  I believe GPP is a one form entry school and SOTG is 3 form entry.  What I have found is that the advantage of a small school is the friendliness but the disadvantages are that the school is less flexible and may offer far fewer clubs as well as not having as much money as larger schools.  Small schools have all the running costs of larger schools but less flexibility with the budget.  Larger schools may be able to set children (teach in ability groups) because they can afford to have more staff.
