"My apologies - I have now been advised that the introduction of the wheelie bins in the trial schemes led to a significant and measurable increase in recycling." This is not the case in most areas in Chiswick. There is no way that Glebe Estate residents will “struggle to fit all their rubbish into the bin”, as the Council's letter implies. This may well apply to other areas in the borough, but most certainly not to ours. Most Glebe Estate residents recycle to a large extent and therefore have only one small bag of landfill rubbish per week, at most, so they do not need a wheelie bin. |
