I don't think anyone would dispute that drinking whilst driving a bus, train or any other vehicle is stupid and unacceptable, but what isn't clear is - did the powers that be know the man had been drinking? Did he smell of alcohol, do they do any sort of tests to confirm this? If it was just an assumption then suspension should have been the order of the day, if he was reeling around obviously three sheets to the wind yes, then they had every right to tell him to take a hike. |
