GERA (Glebe Estate Resident's Association) is writing to all residents on the Estate to update everybody with the latest information on the Council’s intent to introduce wheelie bins on the Estate. These will be delivered from 10 November onwards. It is possible to elect NOT to have a wheelie bin but, if you choose this option, you will have to take your general rubbish to the tip yourself. The Council will not collect any loose black bags in wheeled bin designated areas after 24 November. Should you wish to opt out of receiving a wheelie bin thus not having a bin delivered, you must let the Council know immediately and, in any event, before 10 November. Please email Thomas Burgess at Thomas.Burgess@hounslow.gov.uk We also recommend you copy your email to recycling@hounslow.gov.uk and to brendon.walsh@hounslow.gov.uk Alternatively you can write to Thomas Burgess at Strategic Commissioning, Hounslow Council, Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow, TW3 4DN If enough people opt out of these bins, GERA will be able to lobby the Council to have the Glebe Estate de-designated as a “Wheeled Bin” collection area and thus reinstate the current black bag collection arrangements. |
