Jenn - you don't mention whether you have made a formal complaint about your outstanding issues. The HH website says: "Hounslow Highways deals with formal complaints under the London Borough of Hounslow's complaints policy": http://www.hounslowhighways.org/132-complaints.html This links you to an LBH complaints page: http://www.hounslow.gov.uk/complain The actual Complaints Policy is here: http://www.hounslow.gov.uk/complaints_policy_2013.pdf If you look at the Policy, you will note that the timescales for investigating complaints from MPs, councillors, GLA members etc are tighter than for those made directly by the public. Inevitably, it will take longer to get these started and hear back from these "middle men" but it might pay dividends in the long run. If HH are shown not to have followed their own guidelines, you might decide to take your complaint to the Ombudsman. Tony Buchanan recently posted a link showing Ombudsman reports concerning LB Hounslow: http://www.lgo.org.uk/search/?k=HOUNSLOW In a typical case, I saw it stated: "The Ombudsman investigates complaints about ‘maladministration’ and ‘service failure’...She provides a free service, but must use public money carefully. She may decide not to start or continue with an investigation if she believes the injustice is not significant enough to justify the cost of her involvement or it is unlikely she could add to any previous investigation by the Council.(Local Government Act 1974, section 24A(6))" Good luck! |
