Well I had the same guy, who owns the salon wash, cut and dry my hair, so gave him just over 10% to round up the figure and make me feel comfortable.  I find hairdressers expensive these days, maybe spoiled by having a friend do it very reasonably for so many years, but I do wonder why we tip some people and not others.  Probably did start with tipping the juniors to give them a living wage so probably didn't need to tip in this instance.
