How did you get on?  I recently made an advance booking to hire a van from Zoocars. I told the agent I would probably only need it for a few hours, but I was required to book and pay for a full day.  Fair enough, that was the deal on offer.

The next day I went to collect the van, paid for the day's rental and told the agent I might now need it for the whole day as I had a few more jobs to do. At this the agent turned sour, saying that in this case I couldn't have the van at all, and that he was going to cancel my booking. Assuming I'd be back early, he'd already booked the van out to another customer for that afternoon.

As I had to get at least some of my work done, I promised to bring the van back before 3pm despite the inconvenience.

But then I made a fatal mistake:  I suggested that in future he should warn customers in advance that paying for a full day did not necessarily mean that you would get a full day.

A mild criticism, perhaps, but it was more than he could bear. My payment was annulled, my contract cancelled - and I was blacklisted, never to darken to doors of Zoocars again!

Am I the only customer to be treated this way?

Fortunately Zoocars are not the only rental company in W4, and I guess that if this is typical behaviour they won't be around for very much longer.
