| Ranting about it won't achieve anything. You need to accept the reality that there are limited resources for this sort of thing and lots of people in the borough lobbying for projects that they want implemented. The implication that the people who work at the Council don't care for children's safety simply because they don't immediately do what you demand is both crass and likely to alienate the very people whose support the school will ultimately need. If someone has chosen a career in a Council department responsible for road safety it is reasonable to assume that getting this sort of thing right really matters to them. However, they have to operate within financial constraints. You don't seem to have actually taken the time to read my email but the issue of the lights is more straightforward. If they come under Hounslow Highways then whether they are fixed or not depends on their contract. If there is no obligation to fix them they probably won't be, no matter how much you campaign. This isn't that material as the lights would only add marginally to safety and most schools do without. The crossing would be a different matter but you would have to lobby extremely efficiently and effectively starting now to even think about getting anything done within a year. Abusing the people who make the funding allocations isn't an intelligent way to go about this and you are probably setting back the likelihood of any success by a significant amount of time through your current approach. |
