Paul, the Traffic Dept did indeed pay the school a visit in Spring. The signs both remain broken and nothing further has been done to make the crossings outside of the school safer for pedestrians/cyclists. This has been ongoing since DECEMBER... I have adopted the softly softly approach for nine months with our local councillors, who are meant to be our champions and in this case have come up seriously wanting, and the employees at Hounslow... it has been a case of 'it's not my department' between Traffic and Hounslow Highways since day one. All at the expense of our local children. I don't know what else to do other than contact the local news who will hopefully write a story. At least all accountable parties know they can now be prosecuted to the full extent of the law should something happen to a child. Does anyone know if the borough is accountable to any higher body? Is there no one else who could help with AT LEAST repairing the flashing school signs? |
