You won't many new cycle track on a pavement that is not clearly marked out. Might be some older ones knocking about where lining has fading.

You will see shared use pavements in quiet footfall areas but the pavement will be at least 2.5m wide. Chertsey Road is a good example of this.

In the past there has been some dodgy looking cycle lanes running alongside parked cars but there is buffer on modern designs.

Agree that double yellows (or reds) are the best but quite often you get routes with a lot of cyclists in peak hours and very few off peak so a yellow line with off peak parking will often surfice depending on site and traffic conditions.
