| According to the ITV London news this evening 25% of blind people claim their dogs have been hit by cyclists in the past 12 months.Most of these,by cyclists that were riding on the pavement.The dogs cost £52000 each to supply and train and are often traumatised by the accidents.A spokesman for the cyclists claimed that cyclists ride on the pavements because they are too scared to ride on the roads.Apparently, he says the answer is to make roads safer for cyclists, then they would not need to ride on the pavements oh, and for all cycles to be fitted with a bell that the cyclist could ring as they approach the dog.Just a thought, who pays the £52000 to buy and train the new dog if the one involved in the accident is to traumatised by the accident to work safely again (as apparently quite a few are) |
