Lucy - it was me and my husband who saw Charlie hit and rang you. The car was an older type Mercs driven fast by a young man. I felt so sorry for the little brown cat that was with Charlie - they were both in the middle of the road when it happened and the little cat seemed so bewildered. And that is awful about the lovely black cat. At least we were able to put Charlie on to the grass on the pavement but the little brown cat would not let us near him/her. And at least it was quick for Charlie - she looked like a lovely little cat. I agree that some more calming measures are needed for Hartington - the mini roundabouts are not much use. I think Si is right - it is only a matter of time until there is another fatality and it could be a child. |
